NCV Research night 2018

COVID-19 Info

New College is taking the utmost care to put appropriate COVID-19 precautions in place. We are registered as a NSW COVID-Safe Business. Our COVID-19 procedure has been available since March 2020 and can be found here.

Registration & Entry

Pre-registration for the Lectures is essential. We cannot guarantee seats for people who have not pre-registered.

Entry to the College will be via the Anzac Pde entrance only. We suggest parking in the Western Campus Car Park (between NIDA and New College Postgraduate Village, accessed from Day Ave via Western Campus Drive). These spots are metered until 6.30pm on weeknights. You may be able to find free and untimed parking on surrounding streets. Alternatively, the light rail and various bus routes stop directly outside New College on Anzac Pde.

Upon entry, you will be asked to wash or sanitise your hands and declare that you are feeling well. You will then receive a nametag and be ushered directly to your seat. We ask that you do not attend if you are feeling unwell. Please be especially cautious if you are coming from or have recently been to a COVID-19 hotspot, as listed at

Seating & Capacity

We strongly encourage guests to remain seated and observe social distancing throughout the evening. Attendees will only be permitted in the Main Common Room, Dining Room and ground floor bathrooms.

The maximum number of people we can seat in the Main Common Room is 140. There is some capacity for overflow in other rooms in the College. Chairs will be spaced 1.5m apart.

Canapés Event

We will be running a canapés event on Tues 22 September from 6:45pm-7:30pm. Staff will take appropriate precautions when preparing and handling food. Canapés will be distributed by waiters to seated guests.

Hygiene & Masks

We strongly encourage all attendees to wear masks at the Lectures. We will have masks available on site but you are be welcome to bring your own.

Air conditioning will not be used during the night.

There will be no sharing of microphones during question time. Questions will be moderated using an online platform.

The Main Common Room, Dining Room and bathrooms will be cleaned between Lectures, as per the precautions outlined in our COVID-19 procedure.

If you have any questions or concerns about our COVID-19 precautions, please contact the College at or on (02) 9381 1999.
