*Rt Rev John R. Reid, formerly the Bishop of South Sydney, was appointed as the Acting Master of New College from July 1994 to April 1995, during a search for the College's fourth Master. A number of Board Members and Deans have filled in as 'Acting Master' at other times, but only when the full-time Master has been on temporary sabbatical or other leave.
