We have three very special guests:


Professor Fiona Wood, AM is a British born plastic surgeon working in Perth, Western Australia. She is the director of the Royal Perth Hospital burns unit and the Western Australia Burns Service. In addition, Dr Wood is also a Clinical Professor with the School of Paediatrics and Child Health at the University of Western Australia and Director of the McComb Research Foundation. With her colleagues she has pioneered treatment for burns victims that have been revolutionary. She was propelled to the public notice through her work with the Bali Bombing victims in 2002. She was named Australian of the Year in 2005. In her spare time she is a mother of 6 children. In short, she is a remarkable researcher, public intellectual, humanitarian and woman. Professor Wood will officially open the College’s new postgraduate building.


Professor Hilmer has been Vice Chancellor at UNSW since 2006. Prior to this he was the Chief Executive Officer of John Fairfax Holdings Limited from 1998 - 2005. Before joining Fairfax he was Dean and Director of the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at the UNSW. He holds a degree in law from the University of Sydney, an LLM from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School of Finance where he was appointed a Joseph Wharton Fellow.


The Most Rev Peter Jensen MA (Hons) (Syd); BD (London); ThL (ACT); D. Phil (Oxford) is Archbishop of the Anglican Church, Diocese of Sydney. He was elected the 11th Archbishop of Sydney on June 5, 2001 and consecrated on St Peter’s Day, June 29, 2001. He is one of the Anglican Church of Australia’s leading theologians and academics, Archbishop Peter Jensen, was born in Sydney in 1943 and educated at Bellevue Hill Public School and The Scots College. After completing his Leaving Certificate, he studied law for two years and worked as an articled clerk before he moved into primary school teaching. He entered Moore Theological College in 1966. In 1976 he commenced doctoral studies at Oxford University and earned a Doctor of Philosophy for his research in Elizabethan Anglicanism. He was ordained in 1969 and appointed Curate at St Barnabas’ Broadway. Dr Jensen was appointed Principal of Moore Theological College in 1985, following the retirement of Canon Broughton Knox. He held this post until 2001.
