New College Defeat NCV in Master's Challenge

Friday 14 October, 2011
by Jonathan Billingham
NCV have suffered a 6-2 loss to New College in the second round of the Master's Challenge.

The second Master’s Challenge was held on Friday 7th October 2011 at St John’s College at the University of Sydney. The sport chosen for this meet was soccer. New College was far too strong on the day for the NCV. The pre-match training, New College outfits and intimidating pre-game chant, were enough to shake the confidence of the NCV team, so it wasn’t surprising to see two early goals conceded. NCV struck back with a well executed goal but a good ‘spray’ by George put things back on track and New College ended up easy 6-2 winners. Well done lads!

Following the loss in the soccer, NCV conceded the Master's Challenge Trophy to New College. NCV had won possession of the trophy after beating New College in their first meet over Table Tennis earlier in 2011..
