Both candidates made an outstanding contribution to many aspects of our College life in 2014, as well as having a long history of contributions to our community. The awards were announced at our end of year celebration “The Drinks and Canapes night” on Thursday 27th November. The Award includes a significant cash prize.

Pesila Ratnayake has taken a clear leadership role and has demonstrated dedication, enthusiasm and hard work. He has taught residents to play instruments and has improved the capability of the NCV Band, opening up new opportunities for residents of NCV to perform and enjoy the gift of music. Pesila has served as a very competent Senior Resident of NCV.

Shamila Vijayamanohar is also a very reliable member of the Senior Resident Team at NCV. She has planned events and encouraged residents to participate – that is part of her role as Senior Residents – but she has really gone “above and beyond” on numerous occasions.

Both Shamlia and Pesila are excellent models of the kind of people we love having live at NCV. They have each made an absolutely outstanding contribution to our community life throughout 2014 and in previous years.
