NCV has entered the UNSW Inter-College sporting competition and secured victory in their maiden game of Rugby.

Shalom College & NCV, UNSW Rugby Team NCV has entered the UNSW Inter-College sporting competition and secured victory in their maiden game of Rugby. The sporting strength of NCV has been gradually building up since the college opened its doors in 2009. For the first six months of 2014, NCV will compete in partnership with Shalom College in the UNSW Inter-College sporting competition. From 2nd Semester NCV will look to field its own teams across a range of sports in the competition.

The combined NCV/Shalom Rugby team faced off as underdogs against the well-seasoned New College squad. Despite having no uniform, the NCV and Shalom team led by NCV Resident Scott Parlett managed to outscore New College 15 tries to 12. The close score belies the actual dominance of the winning team who played an attacking game with solid defence. NCV contributed ten players to the combined NCV/Shalom team that beat New College. The NCV Residents were Monish Maharaj, Scott Parlett, Alex Glyde, Scott Collins, Naoise Cottergreen, Amanat Chaman, Ethan Butler, Luke Donlon, Anson Lai and Brent Whittaker (pictured below with some residents from Shalom College).
