New College women claim Inter-College Sports Shield for fourth consecutive year!

We have seen some fantastic sport played by New College throughout 2014.

It all started with the men’s cricket. Despite some tough opposition from Warrane and Baxter colleges, the New College Men’s team made it through to play and win the finals.

This year an amazing number of girls signed up to produce one of the best netball teams to ever live in the building. The girls cruised through their first few games and remained undefeated until the finals, which they narrowly missed out on winning in a very close game that could have gone either way. The men performed very strongly to win their Netball competition.

The men of New College again stamped their authority on the Hockey field, winning the 2014 Inter-College Hockey competition for the 6th year in a row. Unfortunately, they missed out on winning the overall Inter-College Sporting Shield.

The Women’s Inter-College Shield was in contention right up until the last game of the year. Our women’s soccer team performed wonderfully to win the soccer finals. This also secured New College the Women’s Inter-College Shield for the fourth year in a row. A remarkable effort!
