Senior Academic Tutor Jethro Dickens reflects on the opportunity to live at New

In 2015 New College has offered eleven New Collegians some level of Bursary Assistance. Meet Jethro, one of those eleven residents.

"I came to UNSW in 2013 to study a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. In 2014, I was the Calculus Tutor and President of the New College Christian Fellowship and this year have taken on the role of Senior Academic Tutor for 2015."

"The bursary support I’ve received has been instrumental in allowing me to study in Sydney and to live on campus at New College. My parents are missionaries with the Church Missionary Society in Singapore. I would struggle to afford to live here without the generous assistance of the College in giving me financial help."

"I’ve really enjoyed being a part of the Christian community at New College, through Bible studies, Unichurch and Christian Fellowship gatherings. New College is a really encouraging and supportive environment for people to hear the good news about Jesus and also grow in their knowledge and love of him.
I have also loved the social, sporting and academic sides of New College. Playing in the New College cricket team over the last three years has been a highlight."

Jethro Dickens

Many wonderful students, like Jethro, struggle to afford to live on campus at UNSW without your generous support of New College’s scholarship and bursary program.
