If you are coming to UNSW to study abroad on a short-term exchange, we would love to welcome you to either one of our communities – New College or New College Postgraduate Village.
New College
The vast majority of residents at New College are undergraduates, coming from places overseas, in regional and rural Australia, and across Sydney. From day one, you will have plenty of opportunities to meet people and make friends, helped along by a wide variety of social, sporting and cultural events.
Our Dean Of Residents and team of Resident Advisers are available for pastoral care, and our team of Academic Tutors provide academic support. New College is fully catered and provides a weekly laundering service for bed linen.
Short-term exchange students have a wonderful time at New College and are embraced lovingly by the longer-term student community.
New College Postgraduate Village (NCPV)
NCPV is primarily aimed at postgraduate students, but there are a number of undergraduates living in this building as well. NCPV would be your community of choice if you are a postgraduate, or if you are an undergraduate looking for more independent on-campus accommodation.
There is a Dean Of Residents and teams of Senior Residents and Academic Tutors dedicated to pastoral care and academic support. You will find an immense breadth of ages and cultures at NCPV. This community offers self-catered and partially-catered options, as well as apartment and studio-style living. Social, sporting, cultural and academic events regularly bring the community together.
NCPV is an excellent option for short-term exchange students who are looking for a flexible length stay, who want to make friends in Australia, and who want a bit more independence than would be found in our undergraduate community.
