NCPV has a vibrant and eclectic social life, reflecting the diverse range of people of over 40 different nationalities who call NCPV home. Each floor gathers weekly for supper, and this is the best place to catch up with other residents.
The Perfect Balance
NCPV is an ideal home for students wanting a good balance between personal space and a strong sense of community. NCPV is far more than just a place to live and study, with many residents staying at NCPV for several years while they undertake their studies at UNSW.
Centrally Located
The College is centrally located on campus at UNSW and is close to the airport, the city, Coogee Beach and Bondi Beach. Within a 10-min walk are a number of restaurants, cafes, shops and parks as well as the UNSW Fitness & Aquatic Centre.

One of the things I really appreciate is the study spaces, and this has helped me find a great balance between my academic and social life, and my grades have improved so much since coming here. What's Included?
Accommodation
Our residents are accommodated within a group of eight or nine rooms. Each group is
- Fully furnished rooms
Including a single bed, desk, chair, lamp, wardrobe and bookshelves.
- Private ensuite
Each room is equipped with its own private ensuite bathroom.
- Heating and air-conditioning
All rooms feature air conditioning and heating.
- High-speed internet
100mbps (download/upload) Wi-Fi and Ethernet access with 40GB of included data per month.
Community Life
NCPV offers a range of common areas for residents, specific to their areas of study and that they can use to connect with others through shared interests and extracurricular activities.
- Courtyards and Terraces
NCPV is a 7-floor quadrangle. The building includes two outdoor courtyards and a rooftop terrace with BBQ facilities.
- Games Room
The Games Room features a pool table, table tennis table, a communal kitchen, a student lounge and television with Foxtel. It is a popular meeting place for residents to watch sport and movies, or just meet up for a drink and a chat.
- Main Common Room
The Main Common Room on the ground floor of NCPV is the main venue for larger community activities and events such as research seminars, creative activities, College Services and canapé events.
- Shared Study and Reading Spaces
Sometimes studying in your room all day can feel isolating, so there are a number of natural light study spaces you can utilise around the building.
Facilities and Services
New College Postgraduate Village provides a range of facilities and services to support residents as they live and study at university.
- Accessibility
There is ramp access into the building and two lifts providing residents access to all floors and facilities.
- Bicycle Storage
There is a secure storage area for bicycles in the basement that is provided free of charge.
- Cleaning Service and Laundry
College rooms and common areas are cleaned weekly with fresh linen provided. A fully equipped laundry is located in the basement, with coin-operated washing machines and dryers, laundry sinks and ironing facilities.
- Security
The building features high levels of security. To maintain a safe living environment, residents are given student card access to operate the security entrance doors to NCPV, and each room features an electronic door lock.
There are many different events that NCPV sets up for people to get involved in, but there are also many different ways us, as residents, can contribute to the College and involve ourselves in areas that we find passion in.
