Ian Walker Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship celebrates the lasting influence Dr Ian Walker had on New College and those fortunate enough to live at New College during his tenure as Dean from 1994 - 2002. Ian was the cultural heart of the college and created an inclusive, fun and engaging environment with a strong community focus. His lifelong dedication to education and pastoral care helped ensure residents had a smooth and supported transition to university life. Ian was a guiding influence on the lives of the residents in numerous ways via his regular check-ins around the college, his advice and assistance with any issues residents encountered, and his generosity in hosting his famous group dinner parties. Ian ensured New College wasn't just a place to live, but a home and a community, where lifelong friendships and memories were made.
